Carbon and soot deposits build-up and cause improper EGR valve operation, sticking vanes in the turbocharger, and blockages in the EGR cooler and DPF. These deposits cause drivability problems and reduce power, performance and fuel economy. Frequent idling and stop and go driving speed up the accumulation of deposits and blockages, which if not removed, will result in the need for component replacement.
Bardahl PRO® Diesel EGR Cleaner & Diesel EGR Rinse is a 2-step process designed to clean EGR valves, turbochargers, intake manifolds, EGR coolers and DPF. Diesel EGR Cleaner is a water-based solution safe for Diesel engines and is designed to be used in conjunction with Bardahl Diesel EGR Rinse (#94360) to remove any cleaning residue or remaining deposits. Use with a professional diesel EGR cleaning machine diesel EGR canister delivery system or soak dirty components in a bath of the cleaner, rinsing upon completion.
The cleaning and rinse solutions can be applied in a 2:1 ratio or 1:1 ratio of cleaner to rinse depending on deposit severity. Use either a diesel EGR canister delivery system or a diesel EGR cleaning machine that can accommodate a 2-step process and water-based chemicals. Follow the instructions of the equipment manufacturer regarding how to connect the cannister or machine to the vehicle and properly use the solution to conduct a professional service. The EGR cleaner must be applied first and run through the engine, followed by the EGR rinse to remove any residual cleaner. An oil change is recommended after conducting this service. Perform the service every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or as recommended by a technician. This product can also be used to effectively soak and clean DPF filters. Dispose of any used or unused solution and the container in accordance with the local, state or federal regulations.
